Practice Philosophy:

We aim to provide the best possible dental care corresponding to our patient's financial situation.
We strive to make your visit as pain-free and as pleasant as possible.
We provide solutions that are fast, economical and practical.
We generally recommend that you keep your natural teeth if at all possible.
If the treatment required falls outside our field of expertise, we will recommend a specialist.

For example:

severely impacted wisdom teeth that require complex oral surgery by an Oral Surgeon
cases of gum disease that require treatment by a Periodontist
crowded teeth that require the services of an Orthodontist
cases that require a Prosthodontist to do implants and other complex restoration work.
children with particular problems that need a Paedodontist
patients requiring a General Anaesthetic in Hospital

We will give you a telephone reminder to come for a regular check-up every 6 or 12 months.
We prefer to maintain an informal atmosphere at Epsom Dental Care.
So feel free to address Dr Flynn as "John" and our staff by their first names.
Raelene is our receptionist and Pavinee is our chairside  nurse

Full payment is expected on the day, immediately following treatment.
Some treatment will require a 50% deposit to cover laboratory expenses.

We accept Cash, Mastercard, Visa, Bankcard and American Express.

Sorry - we do not take personal cheques (except by prior arrangement).

We do not extend credit - if you need a loan, please see below: How to Finance your Dental Treatment.

We do not send out monthly statements.

Hicaps - process your private dental insurance claims and get immediate rebates on treatment costs.

Medical Health Funds

Yes we are preferred providers again!

If you're a member of a Private Health Fund or thinking of joining one please read this:

We have recently rejoined the "preferred participating providers scheme" run by HBF and MediBank Private Health Insurance Companies.
The reason for re-joining these schemes is that we have realised large numbers of the public belong to HBF
or MBP and if we don't appear on their preferred providers list, we a jeopardising our livelihood.
People are forced to go elsewhere. They go where they can get the best rebate.

The Health Insurance companies ask dentists to subsidise the treatment to their patients by having a fixed compulsory fee schedule which is usually lower than what we need to charge to run a viable business.
However if we don't have any patients at all, we will not be able to stay in business either.
So it's a choice between lower income or no income!

However, that said, HIF have recently introduced greatly improved dental benefits and will pay up to 80% of your dental treatment and they don't have any restrictions on numbers of items allowed per year.
HBF have also introduced a similar scheme although you will need to study the small print.
If you insist on private health cover for dental treatment, we would recommend you check out the HIF offer.
With HIF, you can go to the dentist of your choice and he does not have to be a "preferred" provider.

Did you know that you can transfer your private health cover?
Yes! You can transfer from HBF or MBP to HIF without losing any benefits and you don't have to go through another "qualifying period".

Visit HIF's website at:

http://www.hif.com.au

Our Fees

You will find our dental fees are similar to what most dentists are charging in Western Australia.
We use the Australia-wide accepted standard of the Department of Veterans Affairs fees scale.
This fee scale is also used by the WA Government Dental Health Services.
Although there may be a few other dentists charging the same fees, we don't believe you will find
anyone with lower fees.

EFTPOS

Use the Eftpos system to pay your bill by credit card.
Sorry - no cash-out facility.

.............

HEALTH INSURANCE CLAIMS

HiCaps will allow you to get an immediate rebate on your treatment (most Health Insurance Funds)

However HBF do not belong to the HiCaps scheme so you will need to pay the full fee and then take
your receipt to an HBF office to make a claim.

How to Finance your Dental Treatment

After the completion of your initial examination and discussion of your choices you will be given a detailed estimate of the cost of your dental treatment.  In some cases you may need to obtain an OPG x-ray first.
Dr Flynn will then ask you to return for a short appointment to discuss your case with the aid of the x-ray and a final treatment plan decided upon.
In most cases the estimate may amount to no more than a few hundred dollars, however if the estimate exceeds your budget, you may like to consider arranging a loan through Lombard Finance or GE Money.
They have customised patient financing with very attractive terms with loans from $1000 upwards.
If the loan is repayed within an agreed time, there is no interest charge.
You can apply for a loan simply by filling out a short contact sheet which can be faxed from our surgery.
Of course you can also contact these companies directly by telephone or email at anytime.
Either company will contact you at a convenient time to take the necessary details.
Approvals are made as quickly as possible and treatment can begin shortly after.

We recommend you check their web sites first to compare their offers.
